White Cane Awareness Day

Host: BRIDGES

Date: October 15, 2023

The National Federation of the Blind celebrates White Cane Awareness Day every year on October 15. For blind people, the white cane is an essential tool that gives us the ability to achieve a full and independent life. It allows us to move freely and safely from place to place—whether it’s at work, at school, or around our neighborhoods. Please join BRIDGES on Sunday, Oct. 15th to learn more, meet our team, and participate in our crowdsource art project. This year, we’re honoring AVI (Association for the Visually Impaired), an affiliate of BRIDGES that has offered services to blind and low vision people in our community for 50 years!

Bridges A-V-I White Cane Awareness Day. Honoring 50 years of the Association for the Visually Impaired. Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Bridges, Palisades Center, 2nd Floor. Activities from 12 P-M to 2 P-M and reception to follow. Activities and information about blindness and visual impairment. Free. Registration not required. WWW.BridgesRC.org.
